5th Educational Expedition to Pico Duarte

More than 50 students from Children International and communities of La Caleta and Boca Chica took part in the 5th Expedition to Pico Duarte, organized by GFDD|FUNGLODE and the Siempre Más Foundation. The original course of the expedition, led by professional mountain climber and first Dominican to scale Mt. Everest, Karim Mella, changed due to a forest fire. In addition to learning the value their natural heritage, the expedition gave the students an unforeseen opportunity to explore their relationship with the environment, especially with the all-important resource: water.
