Se lleva a cabo allí donde el desierto besa al océano. Loreto es una joya preciosa, conocida por algunos como “el acuario del mundo”. Una colección de pequeñas islas a lo largo del lado del golfo de la costa de Baja California, Bahía de Loreto Parque Nacional fue el resultado de la demanda ciudadana para proteger el medio ambiente. Como lo ilustra esta historia, es posible mantener contentos a pescadores locales, conservacionistas y turistas en una costa que había sido devastada por la sobrepesca.
Set where the ocean kisses the desert, Loreto is a precious jewel, known to some as “the aquarium of the world.” A collection of small islands along the gulf side of Baja California Sur, Loreto Bay National Park was the result of the citizens’ demand to protect the environment. As this story illustrates, it is possible to keep local fishermen, conservationists and tourists happy along a coastline that had been ravaged by over-fishing.
The film incorporates the voices of all the major stakeholders of the Loreto Marine Park in Baja California Sur, highlighting both the benefits and challenges of development while inviting civic engagement in preservation.
